This place was so cute! A cozy little spot with friendly people, an organized, and nice selection. I had a great time there this morning just browsing. There are cookbooks, puzzles, stationary, and the Old Town Books Junior had great options for my four year old.

It is funny when you are enjoying a stroll around the City and you are not looking for anything in particular that you see a place that may offer something unexpected. I just noticed this charming corner bookstore Old Town Books. I walked in and was warmly greeted. I simply asked if they had any Spanish or Bilingual children and/or teen books. Actually, the answer was yes -- both types. I was escorted to various books located on different shelves. What I noticed is the books were not the traditional American books translated into Spanish that other stores sell, but they offer an array of books for different interests at different reading levels -- yay! I am still channeling my inner Little Person (kid 😉) to learn Spanish so I purchased several Bilingual books today. What a terrific space for Little People and adults alike. BTW it was so nice today I sat outside to read.

I just happened to stumble upon this bookstore by chance, but I was so glad that I did :) This store is cozy, but has a great variety of books for the size of its store. They also have a children’s section which is cozy and cute. I had to much fun exploring the shelves in each room, and made two trips during my 3 day vacation. I’ll definitely stop by again when I am visiting Alexandria :)

Old Town Books is the perfect local book store that I've always imagined. Spent over an hour looking around without even noticing the time! Great selection of titles and all genres. Can't wait to visit again

I love bookstores so when I learned Old Town was getting a new one I came when I got the chance. And I've been returning frequently whenever I can since. In the two years at least I've been coming, the store always has something for me. I leave either with a new book to read (or two) or ideas for things I want to read later. I sometimes like to go in just to see what's new since they carry the latest releases. And since expanding over the spring, adult and children's materials have more space for each other. I know they have events but haven't been able to go since I can usually only visit on weekends. But I follow them on Facebook since they post regularly. Today I bought a new sweater they just released that's book themed but also Old-Town inspired that I saw from their FB page. It's cute and I love it. If you can't tell it's often hard for me to leave without wanting to buy everything, but they do have a rewards program so you can get points off purchases. Their staff are also super friendly and helpful if you ever need help or recommendations. Check this place out if you're in the area. It's not far from King Street and always has something new to read!

Stopped in to get a gift for an acquaintance's children. Staff asked for help as soon as I walked in and when I asked for recommendations, the staff walked around the whole store with me to provide at least four recommendations for each child. Staff clearly really cares and is very passionate about the books they are selling

Lovely bookstore with several rooms of books. Excellent selection on books I just took a few photos of children board books and romance(friend likes them). I truly loved the youth room space. They have story time on Saturdays.

Old Town Books in Old Alexandria is a wonderful independent bookstore that quickly became one of my favorite spots during our trip. We loved it so much, we actually visited twice in one week! The store has a fantastic selection for all ages—from children’s books and young adult novels to thoughtful picks for avid adult readers. There’s a little something for everyone, and the curated mix of books, unique gifts, and fun trinkets makes it easy to find something special, whether you’re shopping for yourself or someone else. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, especially when it came to picking out gifts. They were patient, kind, and genuinely seemed to love helping people find the right book. I brought a friend who loves reading, and she was so happy with the experience. If you’re in the Old Town area, this place is an absolute must-visit—warm, welcoming, and filled with stories waiting to be discovered

The most unique local bookstore I visited in Alexandria, Virginia so far. The bookstore is clean, well organized , and easy to navigate. They have several events held inside the bookstore and unique merchandise from local artists. The service at the bookstore was nice & friendly. I like the selections & descriptions of books throughout the bookstore. In the kitchen room, there was a glass fridge with many cold drinks to buy as well as journals, books, and merchandise around the sink & cabinet area. I was told the bookstore use to be a private residential home. My favorite part of the bookstore was the unique & funny merchandise like the stickers. This local bookstore is a definite go see in Alexandria, Virginia. It is a place I would visit again .
